Terms of Service
Effective date: June 17, 2026
Welcome to TidyTab. These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your access to and use of tidytab.net, the TidyTab Chrome extension, accounts, Pro subscriptions, cloud rule sync, and related services we provide (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
TidyTab is a Chrome tab organization tool. The free extension includes local automatic grouping rules, window stash, local snapshots, command search, and related settings. Pro includes paid features such as cloud rule sync and any other Pro features shown on the pricing page or inside the app.
TidyTab is local-first by default. Unless you sign in and use Pro cloud sync, your local rules, settings, stashed windows, and snapshots are not uploaded to our servers as sync data. The first Pro sync version syncs grouping rules only; it does not sync stash history or window snapshots.
2. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be able to enter into a binding agreement and comply with applicable laws. Some features work without an account; Pro, cloud sync, billing management, and cross-device authorization require an account.
You are responsible for keeping your Google account, browser profile, and device secure. Contact us promptly if you believe your account or Pro entitlement has been used without authorization.
3. Browser Permissions and Local Data
TidyTab uses browser permissions to read tab titles, URLs, and group state, and to create, update, close, or group tabs. These permissions are used only to provide automatic grouping, stash, restore, search, and related product features.
You understand that stashing or restoring a window may close, open, or regroup tabs. Please make sure your browsing session is ready before using stash, restore, automatic grouping, or bulk actions.
4. Pro, Payments, and Subscriptions
Pro may be offered monthly, yearly, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Prices and included features are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by Polar, our third-party payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
Subscriptions are generally billed in advance and renew automatically until canceled. You can manage your subscription through your account page or the payment provider customer portal. After cancellation, Pro access generally continues until the end of the paid period, then may downgrade to the free plan.
Lifetime Pro is a one-time purchase for long-term Pro access to the product scope described at purchase. It is not a perpetual license to every future product, separate service, or third-party cost.
Fees are generally non-refundable unless required by law or stated otherwise at checkout. We may change future pricing or plan packaging with reasonable notice where practical, but changes will not retroactively alter a period you already paid for.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of law, regulations, or third-party rights;
- bypass paid limits, share or resell accounts, or abuse Pro entitlements;
- interfere with, scan, attack, overload, or access without authorization our servers, APIs, or payment flows;
- use automated means to scrape, stress test, or disrupt the Service;
- upload or sync malicious, infringing, fraudulent, or unlawful content.
6. Your Content and Sync Data
You keep ownership of rules, settings, and local snapshot data you create. To provide cloud sync, you grant us a limited permission to host, store, transmit, and process the rule data you choose to sync.
You are responsible for ensuring that synced rule names, conditions, and related content are lawful and do not include sensitive information you do not want stored in the cloud.
7. Intellectual Property
TidyTab, the website, extension, software, interfaces, marks, and related content are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service under these Terms.
Except where allowed by applicable law, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, reverse engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
8. Changes, Suspension, and Termination
We may improve, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Service, including experimental or future Pro features. We will try to minimize disruption for active paid users.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, create security risk, or create legal risk. You may stop using the Service at any time or contact us to request account deletion.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep it reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or successful restoration of every tab state.
Changes to browsers, Chrome APIs, operating systems, networks, third-party websites, and payment providers may affect the Service.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising from the Service, including lost data, business interruption, lost profits, or lost browsing sessions.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Updates to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through a page update, in-app notice, email, or another reasonable method. Continued use of the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
